Author Guidelines

Criteria for Publication

We request authors submitting their Mini-Articles to Psychiatry Connections to meet the preferred criteria for publication so that we can appropriately proceed further without interruption. Authors are requested to make sure that their article follows below guidelines.

Authors are requested to submit the article in Microsoft Word format.

Article should be written in single column format with Times Roman font style and 12 point size.
All the figures (maximum two) provided should be of high resolution, preferably 300 DPI.
References should adhere to the Numbered style of referencing.

Cover page

Manuscript title: Write a title for your manuscript that offers a benefit or poses a challenge to the reader.
Content: Summarize the article’s main message in one or two sentences.
Author credentials:

State academic appointment(s) below each person’s byline. For example:

John Smith, MD, PhD

Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry

ABC University, New York City, NY

Contact information: Provide the contact author’s mailing address, phone, fax, and e-mail address.

Introduction

2 to 3 paragraphs telling readers what they will learn from reading your article.

Text

No more than 1,500 words (excluding references and disclosure statements/acknowledgments)

Psychiatry Connections is envisioned to be scholarly but diverse from journals that publish original research.

Mention historical information and epidemiologic data sparingly, if at all. If you include case reports, omit or modify names and personal details that could identify case patients and may violate privacy laws. Avoid using brand names of medications.

Cite references in the text in numerical order (1,2,3…).

Disclosures / Acknowledgements

Each author must submit a signed financial disclosure form if any. Acknowledgements are optional and may include a collaborator you wish to mention or a grant that may have helped fund the time you spent preparing your article.
